How To Live Through Difficult Moments

Being able to live through difficult moments, no matter how hard, is highly dependent on your outlook on life. As I mentioned just a few sentences ago, I was extremely depressed after my wife passed away. My family and friends did their very best to keep a smile on my face; their love and care saw me through many nights of pain and loneliness. But I had something to live for: my three sons. Knowing that I had to care for them and be at my best emotionally, mentally, and physically gave me a sense of hope and a reason to smile even through my sadness. Because I got through that incredibly dark season, I can say with great confidence today that success in any situation is attainable for you and me
Living your best life requires infinite smiling! Being able to smile at all times, or better said, being able to laugh through good and bad times, strengthens you. There’s even a proverb that backs this up: “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”[1]  If you don’t learn how to smile even through life’s darkest moments, trust me—your grief and disappointment will swallow you whole. So, the key is finding that something, searching through the dust of disappointment to find that one shining stone of hope that reminds you there is life beyond the tears and that the tears you shed will only make you better and more prepared to handle what comes with being in the winner’s circle of life. My "something" happened to be my sons.
