Remove Negative People and Influences

It can be challenging to get rid of the destructive voices inside your head when you are surrounded by people who are cynical. Once you start to hear negative words all the time or feel negative attitudes, it's difficult not to agree with them. Oftentimes you won't even notice negativity and your positive outlook on things start to dissolve. While there are many way for you to deal with negative people, it simply may be best for you stop communicating and interacting with them. People who are verbally negative all the time are most likely having negative thoughts, too. Individuals like this can be toxic and you don't need that in your life when you are trying to improve your thinking and your life.

Seek Greatness

If loving yourself is something you struggle with, the first thing you must do is choose to love yourself—even if you don’t feel that way. More than a feeling, love is an action—it’s a choice. Here are some more tips for learning to love yourself:

•    Act as though you love yourself. Fake it until you’ll make it!
•    Renew your attitude regularly. Check your negativity at the door.
•    Always seek opportunities to grow and improve.
•    Nurture your appearance. If you’re not pleased with the way you dress or wear your hair, change it up to boost your confidence.
•    Be specific about what you need and want, and tell yourself you deserve it.
•    Seek greatness.

•    Welcome the disciplining and stretching that comes with striving to be great and see it as a validation that you’re worthy of greatness.

How To Live Through Difficult Moments

Being able to live through difficult moments, no matter how hard, is highly dependent on your outlook on life. As I mentioned just a few sentences ago, I was extremely depressed after my wife passed away. My family and friends did their very best to keep a smile on my face; their love and care saw me through many nights of pain and loneliness. But I had something to live for: my three sons. Knowing that I had to care for them and be at my best emotionally, mentally, and physically gave me a sense of hope and a reason to smile even through my sadness. Because I got through that incredibly dark season, I can say with great confidence today that success in any situation is attainable for you and me
Living your best life requires infinite smiling! Being able to smile at all times, or better said, being able to laugh through good and bad times, strengthens you. There’s even a proverb that backs this up: “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”[1]  If you don’t learn how to smile even through life’s darkest moments, trust me—your grief and disappointment will swallow you whole. So, the key is finding that something, searching through the dust of disappointment to find that one shining stone of hope that reminds you there is life beyond the tears and that the tears you shed will only make you better and more prepared to handle what comes with being in the winner’s circle of life. My "something" happened to be my sons.

What Love Got To Do With It? "

Every Sunday, my pastor ends our worship service by reminding the congregation to “love somebody, love everybody.” That’s what winning is truly about. More than acquiring wealth, gaining prestige and fame, or being promoted, you win when you show compassion toward others and when you desire to see people live fruitful and satisfying lives. I believe what my pastor means by that is if you show love, love will return to you. Likewise, when you give, you will receive. When you share—resources, knowledge, time—others will share with you. When you help people, people will go out of their way to help you. Bottom line: if you want to be successful in life, help someone. Then watch what happens next.

Making Your Dreams Come True Starts with Helping Others

Making Your Dreams Come True Starts with Helping Others

Lailah Gifty Akita said, “Never believe those who say you can’t. You can make it in life. Believe in your dreams. You can make all your dreams come true.”

Everyone has a dream or passion, and we are empowered by God’s grace to walk it out in this life. Most people hope to one day look over their lives and declare they are living well. One of the marks of success is living well, and it should be. However, to make your dreams a reality requires your giving as much as you receive. It involves encouraging and guiding others. As Jesus Himself teaches us, it’s always better to give than to receive.

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone Isn’t Easy

Getting out of your comfort zone isn’t easy, especially if you are reserved or introverted by nature. But it takes courage and faith to believe that you’re walking toward your God-given purpose. If you believe your goal is tied to what God would have you to do, then know that He often sends people into uncomfortable situations. He told Abraham to leave his country and his family and go to a land He was going to show him—later  (Genesis 12:1). He sent an insecure Moses to Egypt to rescue the Israelites from slavery—and He told him it wasn’t going to be easy because Pharaoh wouldn’t let them go easily (Exodus 3). When Jesus was approached by a rich young man who wanted to know what he had to do to gain eternal life, Jesus told the man to sell his belongings and give to the poor, and that he would have treasure in heaven. But the man didn’t want to give up his earthly possessions and chose to walk away (Mark 10:17-22). The man didn’t have the faith to let go of temporary riches to inherit eternal riches.
The writer of Hebrews defines faith as “ the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”[1] Not only could Abraham not see the land God was going to give him, but also he had no idea where God was leading him. Yet he had faith that God would fulfill that promise. So he went. Moses was pretty nervous about what God was sending him to do. He even questioned God’s choice of him when he declared he couldn’t speak that well to face Pharaoh with such demands. But he went, and you know the rest of the story.
