How to Beat Procrastination

Procrastination has been classified as the enemy of productivity.
Unfortunately, as much as many historical figures such as Eleanor
Roosevelt, Benjamin Franklin, Pablo Picasso, and Leonard Da Vinci have
talked about procrastination, many people are still having a hard time
overcoming it. Procrastination has downplayed the results of several
people and affected their productivity badly. Do not wait until
procrastination brings you to your knees before you look for help.
Read the tips below and learn how you can beat procrastination.

1. Start Anyhow

People suffering from procrastination always give the excuse of
looking for the perfect time to start working on a project. There may
never be an ideal time for your project; start anyway or anyhow, and
everything will fall in place as you progress.
Getting started is the most challenging aspect of beating
procrastination. Having realized what your tasks involve, begin
without waiting, you would find more inspiration and resources to
accomplish it.

2. Set Deadlines

Another way to beat procrastination is by setting self-imposed
deadlines when each project must be completed. Set notifications on
your phone's reminder and stick a reminder to your desk to always
remind you to get started with the project. The deceit that
procrastination feeds every victim with is that there is more time
left; there is no need to rush. Set a deadline and work toward it.

3. Get Rid of Distractions

The advancement in technology should be a blessing and not a curse.
These days, many people have a hard time concentrating on activities
around them. They are always fiddling with their smartphones browsing,
chatting, or watching video clips online. This habit, unfortunately,
is imported to the workplace, and that keeps them away from working
effectively and efficiently. When you have a project to work on, put
away your smartphones, turn off your internet connectivity except it
is required for your work, and declutter your desk of all unrelated
books, magazines, etc. Do not invite friends over to your place
whenever you have a project on hand, except if they are helpful.

4. Incentivize Yourself

If you want to beat procrastination without hurting yourself, use
incentives. Everybody loves a gift; indeed, you would want to be
rewarded for your efforts.
List all the tasks you need to do and give yourself a gift like some
candies or some minutes on social media. This is a kind of motivation
with subtle effects that encourage you to get your tasks done, at
least for the sake of the reward.

The Importance of Prayer for Our Government Leaders

The recent election has caused many people to become overcome with frustration and hopelessness and despair. The nation is divided. Racial tension is at an all-time high and many of us are left wondering, "Where is God in all of this?

The substantial majority of people do not care for Donald Trump's presidency. This assertion is to understatement something like a pond is to an Ocean.

Yet believers are not given the option of letting their disagreement with their political leaders prevent them from praying for those leaders. The apostle Peter wrote that believers are to "submit yourselves to every human authority for the Lord's sake, whether it be to the king, as supreme, or to governors, as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and to praise those who do right... Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king" (1 Peter 2:13-14, 17).

Likewise, Paul wrote to Timothy, "Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone, for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior" (1 Timothy 2:1-3).

Who was ruler when Paul and Peter penned these words? The most dishonorable governmental leader in history - - Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, known only as Nero.
What kind of leader was Nero? He murdered his mother and both of his wives, to begin with. However, his grotesque cruelty far transcended his immediate family. According to the Roman historian Tacitus, after a bad fire had consumed equally half of Rome and his status was in free-fall, Nero decided to blame the fire on Christians. Tacitus chronicles that the initial Roman followers of Jesus "were covered with the skins of wild animals and then torn apart by dogs, some were crucified, some were burned at torches to light as night."

Mercifully, none of America's governmental leaders-local, state or federal-can claim such notoriety. This doesn't, however, lessen the wrong that they have done or continue to allow. Yet we are called to pray for those in power; God's Word says it, and Christians must do it.
How, then, should we pray for those in authority, whether they be leaders we esteem or with whose political decisions we agree with, or leaders whose character and official strategies we cannot endorse?

Here are five ways:
1. Pray for their health and safety.
2. Pray that they would follow the Lord's ways and atone if they don't.
3. Pray that they would execute fairness.
4. Pray that they would govern with wisdom for the "welfare of the city" not for personal gain or for the advantage of a favored few.
5. That God would accomplish His purposes through them regardless of their willingness to be used by Him.

Topic: How to Set Goals to Achieve Success

Goal setting is crucial to achieving success. Success is the total of
all actions taken appropriately in line with the defined purpose of a
cause. If you desire to be successful, you must have goals that are set.
Looking for the right ways to set goals to achieve success? Do not
stress out. Read this article to the end to learn goal setting tips to
achieve success.

1. Evaluate and Decide

The first step in setting goals to achieve success is to evaluate your
present situation and the circumstances surrounding you. Write down
everything you wish for and the level of ability you possess to
accomplish each of them.
This process is to enable you to be objective about your goals and
decide where to work toward.

2. Believe in Yourself

Having evaluated yourself and your dreams, you should realize that you
can achieve a lot. However, you need a strong belief to move to the
next stage. Believe in yourself that you can make your dream come true
and that you can transform that situation around you into a favorable
one for your success.

3. Choose a Dream to Pursue

If you ever want your goals to lead to success, they must all relate
to a single, unified purpose. Choose a dream, among several that you
have, that you are ready to run with and give your best. This will
allow creating a set of goals that are surefire and foolproof to
achieve success.

4. Be S.M.A.R.T with your Goals

Having decided to focus your attention and efforts on a dream, you now
have to set goals to achieve the dreams. However, your goals must be
Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-sensitive (SMART).
a. Specific Your goals must be clear and in no ambiguous such that you know what
results each goal must produce.

b. Measurable

There must be a result to prove the performance of the action
specified by a goal. Thus feature and 'specific' go hand-in-hand.

c. Attainable

Do not set your goals so high that you cannot attain them. Know your
capacity and do not be overly reckless when setting your goals.

d. Realistic

Set goals that can translate into reality. Realistic refers to "of
something that has a high tendency of becoming real."

e. Time-Sensitive

All the goals you want to set to achieve success have a time-frame
within which they must be attained. Having broken down your big goal
into smaller goals, set a deadline for each of them to be performed.

5. Be Accountable

Find one or two people you can tell your plan who can hold you
accountable. A goal has no power if nobody is holding you accountable
to it. Knowing that someone is monitoring your progress and would
require certain information from you will encourage you to work harder
on your goal.

Follow all the tips above to set goals to achieve success. Going from
nothing to becoming successful will be possible when you implement
S.M.A.R.T.

The Cause of Worry

I think that today calls for lifestyles that are busy, fast-paced and absolutely hectic. As a result, there seems to be not enough quality time being spent. For example, most people wake up and grab a cup of coffee on their way out the door. You might sit down and have something only it you have children or a spouse, but nine times out of ten you probably don't finish your breakfast, if you have one at all.

You then get on the freeway, rushing trying to beat the traffic. You get to work and the only time you get a break is at lunch time, but you have to hurry up and get back to work before the boss opens his/her mouth. You might get a 15-minute break now and then, but what is 15 minutes these days? Fifteen minutes in this time is like a couple of minutes.

At the end of your work day, you have to go through the same procedure with the traffic to get home. If you have children, that's a second job by itself. By the time you get the house in order, you are so tired that it is almost unbearable. Then after such unrest and last night's lack of sleep, you wake up and have to do it all over again.

This procedure goes on day after day, while we are missing out on what is most important.
We tend to get lost in the flurry of things, and sometimes the most important things are neglected. Things like a normal conversation between you and the children, or your spouse, your health, laughing and having fun every now and then. Studies show that things like these will not just make you feel better, but put you in a position to have a long life span.

And the most important thing of it all is your spiritual time where you and God #communicate. Whether you go in your closet, bathroom, or sit in your vehicle, there should be some meditation time. In other words, you must pray.

When we miss out on what really matters, this creates a vacuum in our lives that cannot be filled. We end up searching for the missing piece in all the wrong places, and this can cause all this unexplained frustration in living the

How to Meditate for Success

Everyone desires success, but just a few people can achieve it because
not everyone knows the secret behind succeeding. Meditation has been
identified as an essential tool to achieve success.  Once mastered,
succeeding in any endeavor becomes a piece of cake.

Are you searching for how to meditate for success? Do you want to
learn the right meditation techniques that can improve your chances of
success? Do not search any further; read the tips below to move closer
to achieving your goals using meditation.

1. Discipline

Meditation can only be successful when you are disciplined. Staying in
a position for a particular length of time with total submission of
intention and will is an act of discipline. If you ever want to
succeed, it does not come on a plate of gold; it requires discipline.
Sit down and visualize your dreams. Create plans to achieve it
(step-by-step). List people whose help you might need, and create a
self-imposed deadline for each task.

2. Commitment

It is challenging to show up and follow a meditation regimen daily. It
requires commitment. This is the same attribute that is common with
successful individuals. They show up at their business, office, or
where they practice their craft and remain committed. Through thick
and thin, they do not quit.
To succeed, you need to be committed to your goals. Keep on working on
them regardless of the failure you may have in the beginning. Try
harder and do not lose focus.

3. Ignore Distractions

It would be difficult to complete a meditation session if you are
mindful of activities happening around you. Ignore all distractions
surrounding your actions and the pursuit of your goals. Turn deaf ears
to discouraging reports or reviews from people who have pursued
similar goals as yours. Set your mind on the result of your sacrifice
and hard work. Only give thoughts to information that can help you
move closer to your goals. You may have to leave some friends if you
want to succeed; no price is too great to pay for the success you are
craving.

4. Be Purposeful

Meditation is only carried out with a strong will and a definitive
purpose. This is the most crucial part of your efforts to achieve
success. Move purposefully. Think purposefully. Act purposefully. Ask
for help purposefully. Follow your goal, purposefully. Everything you
need to do to achieve success, do it purposefully without doubt or
pessimism. And success is awaiting you.

How to Keep Yourself Encouraged During Difficult Times

Life is such that everyone will have different experiences. Life's lessons cannot be said to have been thoroughly learned without passing through some difficult times. They are part of what make us stronger, wiser, and more grounded. Staying encouraged is one of the ways to overcome difficult times. However, it is not an easy task to remain
encouraged in the face of difficulties.

Are you searching for ways to keep yourself encouraged during
challenging times? Do you want to equip yourself with necessary
nuggets to be able to withstand difficult times without losing your
courage? Read the tips below and be encouraged.

1. Be Optimistic - Difficult Times Shall Pass

One of the ways you can keep yourself encouraged is to be positive and
remain optimistic that the difficult times shall soon pass away.
Remember that everyone had their share of troubles of this world, but
eventually, they overcame their problems. The difficulties you are
facing cannot last forever; they shall pass away very soon. This state
of mind will keep you encouraged regardless of the severity of the
hard times.

2. Do Not Let Difficult Times Get to You

Understand that almost everyone you meet has one problem or the other,
yet most of them decide to be happy. You cannot control some things in
life, but you can choose to be happy. Do not let difficult times
overwhelm you. Live as if those problems are non-existent. Do not
focus your thought, emotions, time, and actions on the difficulties
you are facing. Do not let the difficulties control your feelings,
actions, and how you treat yourself.

3. Seek Help

One of the reasons most people become crushed under the weight of
trying times is their failure to ask for help. Do not keep silent
while you suffer. Your family and friends can provide you with the
support you need to keep yourself encouraged during difficult times.
Reach out to them and share your worries; you would be amazed by how
much relief you would get.

4. Read Inspirational Books that Relate to Your Challenges

It is essential to tap into other people's wealth of experience,
especially that relate to the type of difficult times you are passing
through. By spending quality time reading inspirational books to learn
different perspectives to your problems, you would learn what
solutions people in similar situations applied and worked that you
also can use. There are hundreds of books in the inspirational,
motivational, and self-help categories. Before you finish reading 5-10
books, you will be greatly encouraged to weather the storm.
